Leading Firms in Asia Choose Locus for Competitive Advantage

The top law firms in Malaysia and Singapore have been working with the Locus team since the late 1980's to achieve the benefits of technology. Much of the early progress in terms of adopting integrated systems for process control, financial management and electronic document production made by the larger law firms in these countries was assisted by the Locus Team and Locus software.

Members of the Locus Team in Malaysia and Singapore and Locus' Managing Director, Mike Russell recently conducted a series of management forums in conjunction with the Malaysian Bar Council and the Singapore Law Society. The forums were well attended by Locus clients and prospective clients who heard about the achievements of leading firms in the areas of marketing, real time management reporting and integrated workflow systems.

Leading Malaysian law firm, Raja Darryl and Loh (RDL) has been a Locus client since 1998. RDL is a firm of 130 staff and is recognized as one of the leading Intellectual Property and Information Technology firms in Malaysia. RDL is often approached by other firms for advice due to their early adoption of technology and application of contemporary management thinking.

During the recent visit by Locus Managing Director, Mike Russell, the managing partner of RDL, Mr Darryl Goon, presented the Locus Team with a hand carved representation of the Sultan Abdul Samad building which houses the Supreme Court and High Court of Malaysia. The clock tower in the building is affectionately known as the "Big Ben" of Malaysia.

When presenting the carving to the Locus Team, Mr Goon said, "Working with Locus has been a genuine partnership that has made an important contribution to the ongoing success of RDL.

We view Locus' partricipation in terms of the effective technology and service infrastructure and as an important ongoing business relationship that will assist both organisations to grow."

The presentation was the culmination of meetings between RDL and other Locus clients in Malaysia to plan for the implementation of Locus Affinity. RDL is implementing Locus Affinity as the next stage in the development of RDL's marketing and knowledge management plans.
