I want my firm to be great and to have the greatest support and technology I can afford. After four years of practice, I realised the benefit a well integrated practice management system would provide. This realisation was a large step for me at the time. Especially because of the challenges managing a law firm places on your day to day service to clients. It was a greater challenge selecting the best system that is value for money. A system that allowed for work flow capabilities, client and contact management, varying types of financial reporting and time costing. I invested 6 months researching practice management systems and other technologies that would help automate my practice. I spoke to almost every vendor and received a demo of every system that was scaleable up to about 300 employees. This was a very time consuming process and one that was very interesting. I personally invested this time as I did not want to make a mistake. The system that I chose would, in essence, be the "nerve system" of my Firm and my Firm’s future relied on getting it right. Therefore, when I chose Locus Affinity, I was sure it was the best system at the best price. It had all the features I wanted bar one at the time. However, I did not find a system that did everything that I wanted. Also, by the stage of making my choice, I had talked to vendors who did not do what they said they would. Alternatively, they represented something about their software that was false. I am pleased to say that the Locus team have been good to their word and did not let me down. The continual development of Locus Affinity is also exciting. The Locus implementation approach and support is excellent. This was a big relief as you can never be certain of what you will get "after" notwithstanding any amount of reference checking. But most importantly, the respect that they give me, as a small practice, and their desire to help my Firm improve is appreciated.
